If you’re struggling with acne and feel like you’ve tried every treatment under the sun without results, then Clear Skin Strategies is for you.
Hi, my name is Tim Ponticello and I am an ex-acne sufferer. I know from first-hand experience how difficult it is to deal with acne.
My acne story began just before I started my freshman year at Penn State. I began to develop acne on my face and back.
At first, it wasn’t too bad. I figured all teens get some acne, right?
As time went on, my acne got worse. I started trying different over-the-counter treatments such as cleansers and lotions. I even tried Proactiv.
Some of these things helped, but they never brought permanent relief. Plus, I hated how they made my face feel. I would wake up with skin as dry as a bone.
My acne finally got to the point that I hardly left my apartment. I went to class, and that was about it. I was too embarrassed to go out with my friends on the weekends. Plus, partying seemed to make my acne worse.
Everywhere I went I looked around and was envious other peoples’ clear skin. How was everyone else able to maintain crystal clear skin while I was over here suffering with this soul-sucking condition?
These questions swirled in my head. Finally, I decided to go to a dermatologist. Feeling optimistic that I was under the care of a “professional” I knew for sure it was time to kiss my acne goodbye.
I was wrong.
My dermatologist did nothing but throw prescription creams at me. These creams did nothing more than the non-prescription creams I tried.
Plus, I hated the fact that I had to maintain a time-consuming routine every morning and night.
After feeling like I tried everything without results, I hit my lowest of lows. I figured it was time to accept my fate as a forever acne sufferer.
That’s when everything changed.
One weekend night in my college apartment (because I was too embarrassed to go out with my friends) I was browsing the acne.org forums. I ran across a post talking about green smoothies and how they have helped others get clear.
Side note: That post is still live. You can see it here.
Reading that post changed my life. Never before did I put it together that my diet had anything to do with acne. But at this point, I was willing to try anything.
I decided to give the green smoothies a shot. Every morning I woke up and made one, while simultaneously pissing off my roommates with the blender at 7 AM.
I also started looking deeper into the diet-acne connection, and realized there may be something here.
Slowly but surely, my acne began to fade. It didn’t happen overnight, but it did happen.
I began eating a more nutritious diet and started avoiding the traditional college diet of pizza and chicken wings. I gobbled up every nutrition book I could get my hands on.
Fast forward 6 months, and the results were amazing. I was not 100% clear, but I was about 80% better than I was 6 months prior. And the best part was I wasn’t married to a time-consuming routine morning and night.
My confidence soared, and I felt better than I ever felt in my life. I could finally talk to girls again!
Here I am over a decade later and still clear. What I realized is that it wasn’t necessarily the green smoothies that were the magic bullet, although they certainly helped.
I realized that my overall approach to nutrition had to change. I needed to get the processed garbage out of my diet and stick to real, whole foods my body needed and craved.
Once I gave my body the nutrition it needed, it did the heavy lifting for me. I just had to get out of the way.
My results put me on a mission to help others who are struggling with acne finally get clear.
There is not a lot of information out there on alternative ways to get rid of acne. The industry seems to be stuck on the idea of treating acne at the surface, rather than realizing it’s actually an internal problem.
This website serves to be a resource that gets to the true root of acne… treating it from the inside out.
I still say to this day that acne is one of the best things that ever happened to me. It forced me to take a good hard look at the way I was living my life, which looking back was not healthy.
Luckily, I was able to change my ways when I was young. So many people are never blessed with this realization until they are older and have a more serious condition such as cancer or diabetes.
